BRIGHT Gains Momentum at First Scientific Advisory Board Meeting

It started off swiftly as the parents and scientists of BRIGHT (Brain Injury Group Hope through Treatment) joined each other for BRIGHT’s first official meeting of its Scientific Advisory Board (SAB). Some, such as Dr. Story Landis, Director of the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS), convened directly with founder Matt Palaszynski in San Francisco, CA at the site of the American Academy of Neurology/Society Of Neuroscience Meeting, others joined from around the globe via teleconference. The BRIGHT Wine Tasting event was held at Artasia gallery located in Milwaukee’s Historic Third Ward. The gallery featured unique art from Tibet and China. We would like to thank both the participants and volunteers for contributing to the success of the event.

BRIGHT Tomorrows 5K Run/Walk for Kids


BRIGHT 5K Run/Walk
BRIGHT Tomorrows 5K Run/Walk took place at Mitchell Park in Brookfield, WI. In addition to the walk/run, friends, family and participants enjoyed awards, family activities, a silent auction, and entertainment with a DJ and refreshments. We would like to thank all participants, their family members and friends, and BRIGHT volunteers for contributing to the success of our 5K event.

BRIGHT Summer Program


One Week Therapy Camp – August 22 – 27
The August program was held in a three star waterpark resort hotel in Wisconsin Dells, WI. The waterpark proved a great venue for the young children under 6, and surrounding entertainment activities kept older children and adults entertained throughout the week. Our therapy sessions included balance and gait training, massage, aqua therapy, intense training, and much more. We would like to thank all volunteers, and the families that participated in the activities.

BRIGHT Summer Therapy Camp


One Week Therapy Camp – June 20 – 26
The June summer therapy camp was held in a summer camp setting with cabins, hotel style rooms, and semi-private bathrooms. Volunteers and guests enjoyed home-style meals, the many outdoor activities, the indoor pool, and getting to know each other by the camp fires. Our therapy sessions included intense professional massage, intense training, exercise in a TheraTog Suit, aqua therapy, strength training and much more! We would like to thank all the volunteers and guests that participated in the week long summer camp session.
