BRIGHT Foundation and Peking University International Hospital Sign MOU to Redefine Neuro-Rehabilitation

The BRIGHT Foundation and Peking University International Hospital (PKUIH) today announced a landmark Strategic Cooperation Agreement to advance neuroplasticity-based care for patients with brain injuries and neurological conditions. This collaboration fuses BRIGHT’s world-class clinical expertise—guided by a Scientific Advisory Board of pioneers like Dr. Michael Merzenich and Dr. Edward Taub—with PKUIH’s state-of-the-art “AI + Precision” medical infrastructure. Together, the organizations aim to bridge the gap between breakthrough neurological research and daily recovery for all patients.

The partnership rolls out in three strategic phases:

  1. Patient Empowerment: Integrating PKUIH patients and families into BRIGHT’s global support ecosystem and international peer-to-peer network. See CPCare.org
  2. Clinical Benchmarking: Aligning hospital workflows with international neuroplasticity standards & the “BRIGHT NeuroLoop Full Stack Multi-modality Protocol” to establish PKUIH as a global center of excellence.
  3. Research & Validation: Leveraging PKUIH’s scale to validate the efficacy of advanced neuromodulation and robotic interventions.

“By combining PKUIH’s clinical scale with BRIGHT’s 25 years of lived experience and scientific leadership, we are creating a new roadmap for recovery,” said Matt Palaszynski of The BRIGHT Foundation. “Our goal is to ensure that every individual has access to a standardized, high-quality rehabilitation protocol that treats the brain’s potential, not just the symptoms.”

This initiative builds upon the recent framework established in the BRIGHT Standard for Precision Neuro-Rehabilitation, signaling a major shift toward data-driven, plasticity-focused care.
